President’s Message


Let’s see, where are we?

Just checking the calendar making sure nothing is missed. Can’t remember if we got everything in. Let’s see.

  • Installation of officers? Check
  • Community Service updates? Check
  • Cyprus Project held? Check
  • Happy Hours at Pistarro’s, Magoo’s, Vini Culture and a few more? Check
  • Beat that pesky noon club in a golf challenge? Check
  • Hands On Projects for school supplies, Tour de Frederick, Panther Run Club, Market Street Mile, Visitation Academy, Dictionary Project, Light the Night and one or two others? Check
  • Marketing committee getting the word about RCCC out there? Check
  • Fellowship events at dinner theater, Zipline adventure, winery tour, hiking, cooking, Halloween Cemetery tour? Check
  • Thank Dick Foot for collecting bikes, arranging for District Conference Hands on Project, and about 18 other things? Not done yet. I need to get on that.
  • Teen Leadership and job shadowing program running and in good hands? Check
  • RCCC’s exchange student Marcos arrived, enrolled and doing well? Check
  • Working with SUCCESS and Hood Rotaract Clubs? Check
  • RISE starting third session? Check
  • Give $10,000 to Rotary Foundation? Check
  • Finalize and view Splashes of Hope? Check
  • Hear about Federal Reserve, 1in6, Restoring Economic Health, Cancer treatment advances, County Exec debate? Check
  • Oktoberfest 2014? Check
  • New member induction? Check

Whew. I know we were busy but when you look back at just five months, this club of volunteers has certainly stepped up its game. The RCCC certainly Lights Up Rotary.

Ok so what next? Let’s see.

  • Planning for next year’s Oktoberfest.
  • Holiday party at Musket Ridge.
  • Vote on next year’s officers and Board.
  • President Elect attending PETS training.
  • District conference in the works.
  • Travel to South Africa.
  • International conference in Brazil
  • International Committee checks to be distributes
  • Community Service to look at and vote on grant requests.
  • World Peace and Understanding, Bikes for the World, session 2 for Panther Run Club, mentoring at Lincoln Elementary
  • Next Big Project committee up and running
